Confirming icloud passcode
I have a request on my ipad to confirm my icloud passcode. I have not changed the passcode that works for my iphone and ipad. Is this a scam?

Hello kgr65,
It's hard to give a solid yes or no answer to your question, so let's go with a maybe. In many cases, scammers will try to copy email and text messages from legitimate companies to trick you into entering personal details. Do not follow any links or open attachments in suspicious or unsolicited messages. You can read more about spotting these fake attempts and how to report each type here: Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams - Apple Support.
If you have clicked a link or provided personal details, make sure to secure your Apple ID with the steps found here: If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support. If you’ve provided any financial information, make sure to let your financial institution know.
If you are prompted by the Settings app on your iPad (it should show a red 1 on the Settings icon, indicating there is something needing your attention), then it is safe to enter your password into the iCloud app in Settings. Otherwise, we'd advise caution.
Let us know if we can help with anything else at all or if this doesn't settle your issue so we can look into this further with you. Thanks and have a fabulous day!
