I am trying to reduce a .pdf from 30 to 10mb. I reduced it to one page (from five) -- size doubled. I tried the Quartz file reduction -- no effect whatsoever. I cannot even figure out how to use the ColorSync app. Really, Apple, do you have to make this so fricking hard?!
I am using Preview on a MacBookPro, o/s Monterey.

In my experience the only good way to reduce PDF file sizes is to use Adobe Acrobat. It does a fantastic job of reducing file sizes and still maintain good quality.
Sad to say, I have had no luck doing the same in Preview (ever). Using the Quartz Filter produces low quality results and the file sizes are often not much different from the original.

Has the User considered Exporting the New 1 Page PDF and applying the Quartz Filter during the Exportation ?
Does that result in the desired file size.

The importance is If running Ventura - the current stable version as of Dec 13, 2022 is version 13.1

2 - Product Feedback - Apple and make it known to Apple regarding this ongoing issue
I tried that -- still doubled the size of the one-page .pdf.
Fortunately, I (eventually) found a way to upload the original 30mb document. But the whole fiasco wasted over an hour of my time.
