Is there a way to fix the sound crackle and pop? My MacBook Pro 2021, running the latest Monterey version, has terrible sound quality even when connected via Bluetooth to an external speaker.
I looked through the forums first but couldn't find any solutions.
Do I need to take it back to the store for a repair?

If the cracking and popping sounds are still happening when you connect a Bluetooth speaker too, it's likely not a hardware issue. To help narrow this down, do you notice this happens with a certain application or website? If so, there could be an issue with that application. The first step would be to check for and install available application updates. If the application was installed from a third-party, check their website for updates. Do you have the same problem when using wired headphones or wired speakers?
Does this happen while the laptop is only using the battery?
Make sure to disconnect all other external devices in case one of them is causing a problem.
Try booting into Safe Mode to see if you still have the same issue.
Is this an Intel or Apple Silicon Mac?
Hi Tammy, thanks for your reply. It is happening directly from the MacBook speaker as well, I just meant even if I connect it to something else, the issue is also transferred. I keep everything updated but will test the problem in a new user account to be sure and report the results.
