Ipad ask for IPSW file instead of downloading online

Sometimes something goes wrong in our Itunes installation.

On some machines we are asked for the IPSW file, when I trying to restore Ipads in Itunes.

I have machines with the same installation and configuration, where it works.

My theory is that the failing machine already had a Itunes installation from MS Store.

I have tried removing the software and related folders, but that didn't work.

How do I get Itunes to download from the online repository?

Hope you can help.

Is the issue isolated to certain computers?

Did you acquire iTunes from the Microsoft Store?

If you answer yes to both questions, please try the steps in the article below.

This is happening on almost all of our machines in our domain.

I haven’t narrowed it down. It can happen on computers with an older or other iTunes installation that is being updated. But I have seen it on computers which is installed as new in our domain.

I can't see how it is triggered.

Once the "issue" is present i can't revert back to getting iTunes to download from the internet.
