Once again the sunset/sunrise based automation for my porch light has stopped working. This is the third or fourth time in the past 6 months. Why is the Home Kit so unreliable? Do I have to keep deleting and reprogramming the automation?
The bulb is a Philips Hue.
It appears that Home doesn’t verify that an action has occurred, for example if a light is supposed to turn on at a specific time, it doesn’t the. check to see if the light actually turned on, and notify me if it didn’t.
It appears that sunrise and sunset based automation just doesn’t work reliably. Unfortunate and hope it can be fixed with an update.
Deleted the sunrise/sunset automation and replaced it with time of day automation and the light still didn’t turn on at the set time. Deleted the scene too so a clean start.
I should also mention that the lights status shown on the lock screen is incorrect.
