Adding an iCloud Account
Apple requires that iCloud accounts have two-factor authentication enabled in order for apps to connect to iCloud's calendar or mail servers. If you don't have two-factor authentication enabled, enable two-factor authentication on your iCloud account before continuing.
iCloud with Two-Factor Authentication
1. Log in to appleid.apple.com.
2. After login is completed, click on "App-specific passwords" under the Sign-In and Security section.
3. Give the app-specific password a name of your choosing (e.g. Fantastical).
4. A dialog will appear with a new password string that you can copy and paste into Fantastical.

If Fantastical is unable to sync after enabling two-factor authentication
Make sure you are using your Apple ID's primary email address. You can check which email address is your primary address at appleid.apple.com.
If the iCloud account listed in Fantastical's settings does not match your Apple ID's primary email address, remove the account from Fantastical and re-add it using the primary email address.
Next, make sure you have generated an app-specific password for Fantastical:
1. Log in to appleid.apple.com
2. Select App-Specific Passwords in the Sign-In and Security section
3. Give the app-specific password a name of your choosing (e.g. Fantastical)
4. Switch to Fantastical and click Cancel on any errors that appear
5. Open Fantastical's settings and select the Accounts tab
6. Select your iCloud account and click Change App-Specific Password…
7. Paste the app-specific password you generated into the prompt
