I have been watching BritBox via Apple TV via an Amazon Fire TV connection, but today, when I click on AppleTV i get a blank screen except for a horizontal line near the bottom

Try to restart the Fire TV streaming device. Settings﹥My Fire TV﹥Restart
Try to see if the Fire TV system software is up-to-date. Settings﹥My Fire TV﹥About﹥Check for System Update.
Try to see if apps are set to update automatically. Settings﹥Applications﹥Appstore﹥Automatic Updates﹥On
If the issue persists after that, try to delete and re-install the Apple TV app.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the problem. I had tried unplugging the FireTV and plugging it in again then following your previous instructions, but that didn't help. I've just tried again but when I click on the AppleTV icon I just get a blank (black) screen.

Your instructions were perfect: I followed them and was able to watch my program for 2 days. Now I have the same problem and your recommended procedure hasn't solved it.
