Apple Music Lossless button not appearing

Hello Apple, I play Apple Music on my MBA M2 and as of today I've noticed the lossless button does not appear for every single song. The Dolby Atmos button appears but not lossless. This is the first I have seen this before. I assume when playing music that supports lossless the button will appear. All my songs are at least lossless quality. Like I was saying earlier, I noticed that as of today the lossless button disappeared. I quit Music once and started it again and the button appeared when a lossless song was being played.

Very confused why the button would vanish and then re-appear after quitting.

Any help would be terrific. Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you did not have the option to enable lossless audio in Apple Music. Then after quitting the Music app, it reappeared. This sounds like it could be an issue that is related to the software. In this case, the following steps may be able to assist you if the issue persists:


  1. Restart your Mac. This May seem like a simple steps to take but can refresh your Mac and the software.

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Restart.

 

2. Start up your Mac in safe mode. Completing this step can help you identify whether issues you’re experiencing are caused by software that loads as your Mac starts up. Your screen may flash and load slower. This is expected behavior for this mode:

3. Verify if the issue occurs in a new user account. This will allow you to determine if the behavior is specific to your account or if it is a system-wide issue: Add a user or group on Mac
