Steps for buy used m1 mac mini from owner person?

Hi there!

As i know in intel macs with T2 chip there was an additional firmware password (optional, but need to check).

As iam understand right - m1 can't boot from any external, so there no it exist?

So when iam want to buy mac mini from person (not a shop) and before deal at checkpoint is all he is need to do just logout from account icloud and perform a "erase all settings and data" just like with Iphones deals?

Or i need to know someone other nuance?

The previous owner must follow the steps at > What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac - Apple Support

If they do not, then you do not want to buy that M1 Mac mini from them.

I recommend your first step be "away" unless you have a lot of Mac experience. We see too many sad stories here of people struggling with improperly prepared used Macs.

The middle of negotiations over purchase is not the right time to determine if the computer is properly prepared for sale.
