Yeah the last 2 or 3 upgrades have left reasonable sized projects hang when saving- or take the loooongest time. Even new ones, as far as I can see. I'm a big fan of Plugin Alliance plugins and heavy user for mixing and mastering. But I've not been able to pin it to those. We have 1200+ plugins and no issues with other DAWS to my knowledge. And the screen recall is almost unusable. It's like. go make a cup of tea.... your screen recall is gonna have to wait for the beachball of doom - and it may well hang. Used to be instant. I've been using Logic since it was Creator. One of the first certified Apple trainers in the UK. It's also failing to plugin delay compensate Fabfilter MB and/or EQ on oversample 4x & full linear phase etc. I've not seen Logic fail to compensate on anything other than some of the high CPU settings on Izotope RX plugs over the years. Never seen anything this bad for decades with random crashes, not usually with editing as some others have mentioned, but sure that may have happened too - I'm too concerned with getting through the work to fault trace. Trashcan 6 core 2017, 1TB Aura X2 blade (which was no issue prior and is just fine with all else, including Ableton & annoyingly Wavelab latest), latest Monterey.
The kicker is that most of the time it crashes or I have to force quit it, it doesn't come back with the Apple crash report dialogue! Maybe you guys on M1s etc are faring better? Maybe the lack of Apple crash reports is leaving them blind to our workday woes? I will say though, that (touch wood) I've never lost any project with an LPX crash for years. The autosave has always caught it. Even so my old left handed cmd-S OCD reflex has been sharpened more than a touch over these last 2 or 3 versions. It's like being on Logic on a PC again at times, and as slow as saving Emagic Creator on the legendary old Atari. Maybe someone artsy slipped a really authentic 'save to 1980s floppy disk image before SSD' emulator in the cmd-S code ? :-|
