Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
4. Proceed from there as necessary

Troubleshooting Instagram App:

Perform a New Sign In:

1. Sign Out: of the app (if applicable)
2. Remove: the app
3. Restart: the iPhone
4. Reinstall: the app
5. Log In: to the app

See if this works.

If it does not Work: Then, I'd presume that Instagram's developer's probably have yet to do their part in this.

Well, it's the weekend --let alone Sunday. What is their timeframe to expect a reply? 2 Days?

Call Instagram:

They probably blew it off because you reported it so much. So, call Instagram

Calling instagram is not as calling the Emergency Services or anything usual, per se. I've tried calling them too, but never found any relevant phone number. I've been having the issue ever since I updated to iOS 15 on my iPhone 11. Now on my iOS 16 iPhone 14 Pro, still having the same issue and barely any relevant info is available on the net, however - without solution.

I’v been dealing with the same problem months ago on my Iphone 14 and haven’t found any solution. And, same as you, it works on my other phone (7). I reported the issue to IG but no answer.

When I reinstall the app, the activity status works when I open it the first time. When I close and reopen it, the issue comes back…

Once you completely wipe the app which brings possible login issues, you can enjoy the activity status icon for... the first launch of the app. Then it's back to the same lack of it. Really frustrating and it came with an iOS 15 update.
