I upgraded my Mac air yesterday to Ventura 13.1 and it keeps changing my default browser to Safari even though I have it set to Chrome.

AFAIK , stand to corrected by More Learned Contributors - that is fine too.

But if you purposefully make Chrome the Default Browser ( Image above ) it should stay that way.

Now, I personally do not use Google Chrome so am guessing there might be a Setting Within Google Chrome to make it , Chrome the Default Browser, but can not confirm this

aha! what genius mucked this up ffs? i didn't see any reasoning behind the change.

the website works to convert them, but then you have double the amount of urls on your desktop and have to delete the originals. i'm going another route since i have webloc files on and off my desktop hundreds of times per day and not about to go to a web page converter for every one. i'm just going to train myself to never double click them and just drag them into the google tabs section instead.

many thanks for pointing out the thread though. i suffered for days with this issue before i decided to see what was going on. and afaik it only started when i updated ventura 2-3 days ago, so it hasn't been 'common' for very long. :)
