Apple Watch Series 7 battery massive drain.
I bought an Apple Watch Series 7 one year ago. The warranty has just expired
Ever since the iOS watchOS 9.1 and 9.2 updates came out my battery life has been horrible sometimes no more than an hour sometimes maximum four hours.
I have sent this watch to Apple Support three times. Each time they are “unable to replicate the problem” which is ridiculous since the agent that took my watch on each time was able to visibly watch the power go down in front of our faces 5% or more in a period of minutes.
Because my watch battery capacity is above 80% ( it’s 85%) apple sends the watch back to me saying there’s nothing they can do.
Besides sending the watch back to Apple, I have paired and unpaired the watch. I have hard reset the watch frequently I’ve tried every variation of letting the battery run to zero for three days and then charging it again and repairing. I’ve tried pairing the watch and immediately hard, resetting the watch. I’ve tried repairing the watch, unpairing and repairing three consecutive times just in case. I’ve turned off cellular and tried all the variations without ever activating cellular, I’ve tried unpairing the watch letting the battery run to zero then charging to full and repairing the watch then letting the battery run to zero and then charging it full and then un pairing and repairing…
There’s really not a single thing that anyone has suggested, or even hinted at online that seems to do anything
Except this last time, I took my watch in the Apple technician left a comment stating that it was probably a “high energy consumption app” on my watch causing the problem.
I uninstalled all the apps on my watch except the apple apps THREE MONTHS AGO.
So, unless the“high energy consumption app” is the clock, there’s something else going on here.
Everything was fine with the watch until the 9.1 update. I even got it back into a reasonable state after a while and then the 9.2 update happened and it’s right back where it was if not worse.
I’m posting this here because I believe other people are having this problem and Apple is pretending it doesn’t exist. For a $400 piece of hardware to last nine months fine and not even have a problem until apples on software b0rked it and they’re blaming ME?!
not cool apple. Not cool.
