how to retrieve deleted text messages

If you will review the information in the Apple Support document above your name in your original post, you will note that in order to retrieve a message that has been deleted:

1) iOS 16 must be installed on the iPhone

2) The message must have been deleted....after....you installed iOS 16 on the phone

3) No more than 30 days have passed since the date that the message was deleted

All 3 conditions above must be met to be able to retrieve or restore the message
