Persistent Ghost Hotspot Connection in Macbook

Hello folks. I recently had a problem related to Wi-Fi and hotspots. Maybe someone has experienced something similar or could help me. The issue is that my Macbook recognizes an outdated hotspot connection as "my hotspot" and it should not exist. This happens whenever I turn on the hotspot on my iPhone. The Macbook classifies the updated hotspot and the outdated hotspot as separate connectable networks. The old network serves no purpose currently and I can't get rid of it. I tried resetting the network settings on the iPhone and it didn't work. I've also tried the forget network method through the Macbook but there is no way. I would appreciate any suggestions for how I can remove the hotspot "ghost" and let me know if any additional information would help regarding the problem.
