Ventura - Can't move my mouse from Mac to External Display

I am using a 14" MacBook Pro, 2021 with M1Pro chip. I have been using a second display since 2021 and have been able to move seamlessly between the Mac and external (Samsung) display. My mouse moved between the two and I could drag applications from one to the other.

Tonight, I updated to Ventura 13.1 (22C65), and I cannot move my mouse between the two displays any longer. In settings, I have the 2 displays arranged side by side, using as "Extended display". In advanced settings I have it set to allow link to Mac or iPad, and allow to push through the edge (tried turning these off, but no joy). Has anyone else had this problem, and hopefully, found a solution?

Thank you Michelle,

I had a look at my setup yesterday and noticed that I had the displays "Arrangement" in the wrong order left to right. Once I swapped them left to right, everything worked fine.

I neglected to think about updating my post.

Thank you for trying to help. The issue seems to be a single "user error".

Regards

Hi bubba.t,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that since you've installed macOS Ventura, your mouse doesn't move to your external display even though it's set up as an extended display.

To help determine if this behavior is isolated to this user account or system wide, we'd like to have you create a new user account to test your external monitor as outlined here: New user or group setup on Mac - Apple Support

"To add a new user or group, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click Users & Groups  in the sidebar, then click New Account on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)

Note: You may need to enter your password to access the New Account window.

Option

Description

New Account

Choose the type of account you want to set up:

See Add a user or group on Mac."

Once you've set up the new account, you can go to the Apple menu, choose Sign out (current user) then sign in on the new account.

Let us know it goes and we'll take it from there.

Cheers!
