How can I rotate the ipad screen as a second display for a Mac by Sidecar. macOS:Monterey 12.3.1

How can I rotate the ipad screen as a second display for a Mac using Sidecar? When searching on my macbook, it shows that it should give me a rotate option when picking the ipad as a second screen, but it does not. I'd like to use it as I code and enjoy having my code editor in vertical orientation.
