That reminds me: You may prefer to turn the search box off so that the screen dots are always available to swipe across:

Settings > Home Screen > Show on Home Screen = OFF

Timothy ~ No, if the app switcher opens you're doing this:

Open the App Switcher. Swipe up from the bottom edge, pause in the center of the screen, then lift your finger.

...Instead, do this:

Go Home. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to return to the Home Screen at any time.

You can also swipe across the dots or search box from right to left.
