want to move desktop and documents from iCloud to Mac running Ventura 13.0.1

Want to reduce iCloud storage used by moving desktop and documents to my MAC.

As per the article Work with folders and files in iCloud Drive - Apple Support

Move items to your Mac and remove them from iCloud Drive

• On your Mac, drag items from iCloud Drive to another folder on the desktop or in the Finder sidebar, such as Recents or Downloads. 
• The items are copied to your Mac and removed from iCloud Drive on all your devices set up for iCloud. If you change your mind, you can drag items back to iCloud Drive.

Note : the desktops and documents box is inbuilt in system preferences , you can manage iCloud storage by reducing the iCloud data Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

The documents are already on your Mac, that's how iCloud syncs. If you wish to turn off desktop and documents, you may do so. The files will then appear in your iCloud Drive and you can drag them wherever you would like to store them.

It's not moving, it's synchronising.
