Why is the option Transfer Directly from iPhone is no longer available?

I just received my new iPhone 14 and I want to transfer my apps and data directly from my old iPhone, but the option is no longer there and I'm being forced to use iCloud. Why? It was so much simpler, faster and more secure to just transfer apps and data directly from iPhone to iPhone. Is that an attempt by Apple to collect more data from it's customer? It's seams so. I've never wanted to use iCloud, and now I'm being forced to.

I even called the Apple support center. They could be of no help!

What you are probably looking for is the Quick Start option in this support link→Transfer data from your previous iOS or iPadOS device to your new iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

There has never been a way to transfer apps from one device to another; when you transfer content it only transfers data, not apps. Apps are redownloaded from the app store as part of the transfer process.

And Apple does not collect ANY data from its customers. Apple is not Google.

It IS available, and the instructions are in the link I provided under Quick Start. However, it never transferred apps, it transferred app data and redownloaded the apps from the App Store.

I was able to transfer the apps and data directly via the Quick Start option for my partner when he upgraded to a new iPhone about a month ago. We didn't have to use iCloud at all. The option in the green rectangle is now gone.

Yes, I tried following these instructions several times. I gave up and had to do it via iCloud and I'm not happy about that.

Well...I transferred the apps no problem just over a month ago with the Quick Start on my partners new iPhone. Now, I spent a while with the support team and they could not figure out why the option was not gone. Maybe is just my new phone.

Did you follow the instructions I posted?

Note that it requires that the target phone start as a new phone or reset to factory settings, and both it and the old phone be connected to power and Wi-Fi, and both need to hav Bluetooth enabled. As the instructions say.

The problem was from my end. Because it was a company phone, the remote management installed on it was preventing to directly transfer between iPhones.
