In depends on what the issue may be.


If an iOS update as suggested won't fix it, and Its a hardware issue as explained in the support document you posted from. Yes, you would need to take the iPhone into an Apple Store or authorized service provider to get it looked at.


It's unlikely a hardware problem would get corrected with a software update.
