My iPhone 12 Pro Max camera stopped working this morning

The first thing I do if something is not working properly is turn the phone off then on again. This will sometimes clear any glitches that may have occurred.
Secondly check for any available updates.
Also has anyone worked on your phone lately such as screen or battery replacement? If so was it at an Apple store or Apple Authorized Service Provider or independent shop.
If none of this helps hang in there as someone else may come along with other ideas. Hopefully it’s something simple and not in need of repair.
