What’s up with CarPlay?

When using CarPlay with amazon music things only work properly go about 15 minutes then whatever song is on locks up and cannot be forwarded or removed, only play and pause work. Leaving me to power down the phone and restart everything while driving.

note when Amazon app is live on phone CarPlay starts well but still locks up.

note if CarPlay initiated while Amazon app closed/asleep it plays then locks up and when car is turned off and music stops the music then plays out of the phone with no way to turn it off. Phone shows play button but music already playing.

only way to turn off song playing is to power down my phone.
