looking for a usb c female to lightning male adapter

Is there such an Apple adapter from USB C female to lightning male? I have a thermal camera which is USB C and I would like to use the device on my iPad.

I have located adapters, but they are third-party, which I typically stay away from since they are known to send dirty signals and destroy equipment. I have previously lost two phones using third-party data/charging cables.

@pychon is looking for Male Lightning to USB-C Female adapter that supports data sync. Apple does not make this adapter/dongle and theirs only a few available on Amazon that I have found that DO support data sync but NONE of these appear to be MFi Certified or provide any other guarantee.

My use case is that I have a USB-C Security Key that I want to plug into this adapter and for the iOS/iPadOS to see it as a SmartCard for authentication or digital signatures.

I found two unofficial adapters that may work this use case and will be purchasing both to see if either works for my use case.

Lightning and USB are entirely different interfaces. You will not find a simple plug adapter that has the capability to connect a USB-C peripheral to the Lightning port of an iPad or iPhone.

Of plug-adapters that you might find available can only be used for charging - and of those that you do find, none are USB Certified and have the capacity to cause serious damage to the host iPad and/or connected USB device.

Incorrect. They are adapters. They are available third-party.

The question is simple.

When you find one, don’t forget to return here - with a link. Others with the same problem will doubtless benefit from your find.

Wrong. Apple has one for $20.

Also, you can find them all over Amazon.

I have one so that I can use my PC's USB wireless headphones with my iPhone. I plug the adapter into my iPhone, and the USB transmitter into the adapter. Works perfectly. It also lets me adjust the volume with the control that is on the headphones.

If you are using wired headphones that draw their power from the source, and you get a popup message on your iPhone saying there's not enough power, I've heard you can also use a power adapter in between.

Also, you can plug in a USB drive and your iPhone will recognize it, so that you can transfer files to/from your iPhone without the need to go through your PC.

I haven't tried any other USB devices, but I'm going to have fun trying.
