wide screen menu bar position

I have a very wide screen (120cm).

The menus in the menubar therefore sit too far at the left to be comfortable.

Is there any way to move the menus away from the extreme left?

There is a utility called "SecondBar", which shows a copy of the menus and can be dragged to any position. I put it in middle of the top of the screen, and that is fine.

But this utility is no longer supported and will not work if I move to the next OS version (I'm on Big Sur now).

Hi Kaz-k,

It's what I feared.

I'll follow your suggestion & feed it back to Apple directly.

Of course, using Applescript, I could make an app that gets the menus of the currently active application and shows them, and could even resurrect the very nice way it was done in NeXTStep.

However, Apple should really do it. For some productive work, an extra-wide screen is very useful, and the menubar is also much better than having menus on every window.

Thanks,

Robert.
