cant find public playlists through search

I was searching for a public playlist that I never saved to my library and it didn’t show up and neither did the countless others with the same title. I tried with a bunch of other playlists I recalled listening to and the only playlists that show up are the official Apple Music ones. I’ve tried turning it on and back off as well as looking at my settings and seeing if the software was up to date and nothing seems to be working.

It’s not that I can’t make playlists it’s that I can’t search for other people’s public playlists

Hi there olly_lolly,

Thank you for posting to Apple Support Communities.

Do you have a profile on Apple Music?, If you have a profile on Apple Music, you can make a playlist public so anyone can find it when they search Apple Music. When you create a new playlist, turn on Show on My Profile and in Search. See what friends are listening to in Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device

Check through and make sure you're following the steps here:

How to make a playlist in the Apple Music app

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. At the bottom of your screen, tap Library.
  3. Tap Playlists.
  4. Tap New Playlist.
  5. Give your playlist a name, then tap Add Music.
  6. Find the music that you want to add.

That should help. Let us know if you have any questions.

Take care.
