search not working on Mail after Ventura update

Hi there,

If you are experiencing issues with search in Mail after the Ventura update, you may be able to fix the problem by quitting corespotlightd. Here's how:

  1. Open the Finder and go to Utilities.
  2. In Utilities, open Activity Monitor.
  3. In Activity Monitor, search for "corespotlightd".
  4. Once you have found "corespotlightd" in the list, select it and click the "X" icon to quit it.

It's worth noting that quitting corespotlightd may have some negative side effects, such as making certain features that rely on Spotlight, such as search and file indexing, slower or less reliable. However, if you are experiencing issues with search in Mail, this may be a good place to start troubleshooting.

Before trying this solution, it's important to note that you should have already tried other common troubleshooting steps, such as rebuilding the mailbox, checking spotlight, and even reinstalling the operating system. If you have already done these things and are still experiencing issues with search in Mail, then quitting corespotlightd may be worth a try.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.0
