Cannot Sign in with Apple ID

Yesterday I set up a new iPhone SE from my iPhone 6 . I could not complete the set up because my Apple ID was not accepted each time I tried .

I clicked the link “Forgot password” ( even though it was correct ) and was asked for the passcode of my old iPhone . It would not accept that either

I changed my Apple ID on my old phone and can go to my apple account.

I then tried to sign in again on the new phone with the new Apple ID password but again was not accepted so again I clicked ‘forgot password’ and again was asked for my old phone passcode which again wasn’t accepted

What am I doing wrong ?

Now when you changed the Apple ID on the old device, did you change it to the same Apple ID you're trying to sign in to on the new device? Or is it a different Apple ID?


When you're trying to sign in to your Apple ID on the new device, is it just saying "not accepted" or is it showing an actual error message? If so, what is the error message?


To eliminate an account issue, go to the Apple ID website and see if you're able to sign into the account there.
