Edirol FA-101 Firewire 400 to Thunderbolt 4 (for Logic Pro) on MacBook Pro 14

Just spent 30 minutes looking online for a solution!

Problem: I previously had a MacBook Pro 2012 with a Firewire 800 input. That accepted a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable, enabling me to use the wonderful Edirol FA-101 audio interface with Logic Pro (input and output).

My new MacBook Pro 14 (2021 model) has 4 Thunderbolt (sort of USB-C) inputs.

How do I plug my Firewire 400 (or even a Firewire 800 if it comes to it (if it comes to 2 cables!)) into the new MacBook Pro 14? MacBook Pro 14 is running MacOS Monterey 12.5, has 16GB RAM and

I cannot find a male Firewire 400 to male Thunderbolt 4 cable. Anyone have any ideas? I would rather not buy a new audio interface if I can help it. Thanks in advance! Gwynfor

i had a similar problem with an M-Audio 8 channel firewire that I loved. So make a long story short. There were some non apple software updates that I found but once I switched to my new at the time 2019 8 core i9

there were zero options to use it.

I bought a universal audio interface and never looked back. I had a Scarlett before that. Scarlett’s are easy to find on the used market. I bought my 4 channel one for $100 and it was great. Comes with lots of free plug ins too.
