Alarm switches to Radar

so there are a lot of discussions on this topic so i just want to add to the pile

in june 2021 i first had this problem and i found out that you need to download the song for it to work(weird, no explanation, no mentioning of this anywhere but this forum), so everything was fine. then i got a new iphone(previously 7+, now 14) and this problem returned, and even if when picking a song for the alarm i tap choose from libabry->downloaded, it won’t work. it even plays the song when i choose it when setting up the alarm, but i still wake up to radar, i swear i’m gonna have a heart attack one morning if this doesn’t get fixed soon

edit: one thing i noticed is that if i choose a song that i manually added to my apple music library (cmd+O on mac apple music) that is downloaded- it will actually work. weird exception but better than radar and the other default alarm tones.
