gift card won’t work

i have a 15$ gift card and i’m trying to buy stuff on my game but it won’t let me use it for some reason. it either wants me to redeem it which o already have on my apple id or add a credit card and when i click on the gift card it says either redeem one or edit the amount on the gift card i already redeemed
