Following the most recent update on my Macbook Pro the spotlight search is very slow to respond.

Spotlight stopped responding after updating my MacBook Air M1 to Ventura 13.3.1, Since upgrading my MacBook Air M1 to Ventura 13.3.1, the spotlight feature has stopped responding. Nothing happens when hitting Command+Space or clicking the spotlight icon on the right of the top menu row. I already tried restarting the Mac and stopping and initiating the indexing service via the activity monitor. The find option of the finder (Option+Command+Space) works well. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Spotlight may be re-indexing. Let it do its thing for a couple of days.
