When I try to activate the feature I have that message
Unless I missed something, the page about 'advanced data protection' does not mention which country is supported or not.
Would it be possible to:
1 - update the documentation about supported countries / regions?
2 - know when Japan will be supported?

Per Apple: Advanced Data Protection for iCloud is available in the US today for members of the Apple Beta Software Program, and will be available to US users by the end of the year. The feature will start rolling out to the rest of the world in early 2023.

This article states that it is currently available to U.S. customers and will begin to rollout to rest of world, soon.
