Charging issues on iPad Pro 11 2018 A1934 after update to iOS 16.2

Today I updated my iPad Pro from iOS 16.1 to 16.2. Immediately after the update, I noticed that even though the iPad was plugged in (official Apple Wall Adapter and Cable) it was not charging any more. I tried plugging it in again, restarting it, and also tried a few different cables and power supplies and cables. I noticed that the iPad Battery was also draining way faster than usual. After I tried a few different things, I found out that the iPad only charges on slow charging adapters. Anything faster (like the Power Supply from my MacBook or a fast charging power bank) either does not charge or brings the iPad to immediately crash.

Does anyone have an idea? I can't deal with this right now. I am a student and I need this iPad!

We definitely understand your frustration juliuswaldmann, but we’d like to explain about the battery usage on iOS and iPadOS devices.

About the battery usage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support -- Most, if not all, electronic devices depend on a power source to work. Those that use a battery can expect the battery to become depleted at some point. This article explains the battery life expectations for an iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

If Apple Support found an issue with the charging port or other hardware problem, you may be able to find a more affordable option buying a refurbished iPad:
