Verifying the email settings is a great step to help work towards a solution. In addition to verifying the settings, there are additional steps that can help with resolving this issue outlined in the following article.
If you can’t send email on your iPhone or iPad
If you continue to have issues after completing the steps in that article, the last step is removing and setting up the email account again. For reference those steps are listed below and outlined in the linked article.
- "On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website. Make sure that all of your email is there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than on your iOS or iPadOS device.
- On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
- Tap the email account that you want to remove.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Add your account again."
