iCloud dont sync

Hello,

I have several Apple devices (iPhone, iPad and Mac Book) that I use with one Apple ID, all devices sync with iCloud - except one.

My Mac Mini I can also log in with my Apple ID, it also syncs addresses and calendars but not photos and not the data that is on iCloud.

I compared the setting with the other devices - they are all the same. The OS is up to date.

I don't know what to do anymore so my question: can someone help me?

ARUNGE,

Does restarting the device in safe mode help at all? This will narrow down if there is a start up item causing the issue. You can learn how to do that here:

"Start up your Intel-based Mac in safe mode

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key until you see the login window.
  2. Log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again.
  4. On either the first or second login window, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar."

If you're using Apple silicon here's a link to the full resource: Start up your Mac in safe mode

Also, if you go to Photos > Preferences > iCloud in the Photos app does it show you as being signed in properly there? If so, we recommend reaching out for additional support here: Get Support

Take care.

Hello ARUNGE,

Let's get started and see if we can get the Mac mini syncing more than just Contacts and Calendars.

What happens when you select the boxes for iCloud Photos? Does it show it should be syncing?

Do you see any messages when you open Photos on the Mac mini?

You mentioned you compared settings on MacBook and Mac mini. Was it the iCloud settings you compared?

Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Apple ID. If you’re using macOS Mojave or earlier, click iCloud. Choose the apps— like Notes, Photos, and iCloud Drive — that you want to use with iCloud.

Found in Set up iCloud on your Mac.

When you say the macOS is updated, can you let us know the exact macOS versions installed on the Mac mini and the MacBook? The answers to these questions will help us to determine the best path forward. You can also use the instructions above to verify your settings are correct, which may help to resolve the issue.

We look forward to hearing back from you!

Hey ARUNGE, if two separate Mac devices are unable to sign into safe mode, there may be other issues going on besides iCloud not syncing with it/them. Our best recommendation is to contact Apple Support directly. They’ll have the tools and resources we cannot access in Apple Support Communities.

You may be able to reach them using this link: Get Support

If not, here’s a list of the phone numbers for Apple Support in each country we’re present: Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support. If there isn’t a phone number for your location, use the phone number from nearest country to you.

All the best.

Hello, thanks for the quick response. Here is the answer to your questions:

What happens when you check the boxes for iCloud Photos? Do you see any indication that syncing should take place? - No, it does not display that.

Do you see any messages when you open Photos on Mac mini? - No, there are no photos on the Mac mini after all.

You mentioned that you compared the settings on MacBook and Mac mini. Have you compared the iCloud settings? - Yes, I did - they are the same.

If you say the macOS is updated, can you tell us the exact macOS versions installed on the Mac mini and MacBook? - Mac mini = 10.15.7 MachBook= 10.14.6.

What else I noticed is that the iCloud storage shows up with the same size on both devices.

I can't get to the app store with the Mac Mini. It shows me that there are apps that can be updated but I can't get to them.
