iPhone and 2016 ford explorer

I have the strangest problem. My iPhone all of a sudden will not connect with my BT Stereo on my 2016 Ford Explorer Ford Sync. Oddly enough, the phone works for calls via Bluetooth, but it wont play music, podcasts...etc. I disconnected my phone from my cars Bluetooth, made it forget my phone & reconnected it. I have an iPhone XR I have done everything. I tested out my kids iPhone . Same problem. I even updated my iPhone (which I didn't want to do. Last time I did that with my older iPhone the update rendered my old iPhone near useless, so I had to get a new one). When I scroll down the menu on the Sync on the car & hit BT Stereo, it just reverts back right away to radio.

Hello iPhoneassist6045,

We would like to see how we can help you with your Bluetooth not connectiing as expected. As the issue is happening with multiple iPhones, it may be a problem with the Ford's Bluetooth connection. Are you able to connect to other Bluetooth devices without issue? Check out this link for other possible solutions: If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone or iPad

"Try these steps first

To get help pairing a Bluetooth accessory, like a wireless keyboard, to your iOS or iPadOS device:

  1. Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory and iOS or iPadOS device are close to each other.
  2. Turn your Bluetooth accessory off and back on again.
  3. Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is on and fully charged or connected to power. If your accessory uses batteries, see if they need to be replaced.
  4. If there's an app that you use with the Bluetooth accessory, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth on your iOS or iPadOS device, and make sure that you've turned on Bluetooth for the app."

Cheers!
