How can I export a movie from iMovie without sound?

iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 10.15

imovie I imported an m4a audio file into iMovie and edited it down from about 30 minutes to about 8 1/2 minutes and now I can't figure out how to save or export the edited file. I found ways to share or export but the file would still be 30 minutes. how does that work? thanks!

Video file compatibility with iMovie Can I import video files (Sony XAVC S 4k) from my Sony ZV-E1 Camera to imovie? I've tried and haven't been able to do so. It just imports the audio.

Hi,

Do an Edit/Select All and then Modify/Mute Audio. That will mute the audio in the project. When you export the movie the exported movie will have no audio.

To restore the audio to your project, do Modify and uncheck Mute Audio.
