Apple takes away our favorite weather app - Dark Sky, on our iPad. Why is there no app to replace it?

The Apple Weather app was automatically added to my iPad with the iPadOS 16.? update. It is also available on the App Store (but you need to look carefully to find the Weather app from Apple there). It contains most of the Dark Sky features.
