I thought DarkSky and Weather app had been integrated, but I can’t figure out how to set custom notifications — not severe weather alerts. Am I missing something?

Hi Katy O\'Donovan Peterson,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

The article you came from provide the best information on the notifications that Dark Sky user can use with the Apple Weather app.

Base on that information, it looks like only alerts for severe weather and next hour precipitation can be managed and it may not be available in all countries and regions.

To manage those settings,

Turn on weather notifications for your location
1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Weather, then tap Always.
2. Turn on Precise Location to receive the most accurate notifications for your current location.
3. Open Weather, then tap the Edit Cities button to view your weather list.
4. Tap the More Options button, then tap Notifications.
If prompted, allow notifications from the Weather app.
5. Below Current Location, turn on notifications for Severe Weather and Next-Hour Precipitation (green is on).

Apple has said they are incorporating some features of Dark Sky into their Weather apps. They have not said specifically which features or when. I don’t believe there is, at this time, an option for custom notifications.

You may want to look at other third-party apps. Carrot Weather (in addition to being a great deal of fun) has robust notifications. Perhaps they will suit. There are also lots of others.
