How to access the forum

Is there a way to add a widget or shortcut for the forum to my homescreen., Or do you need to go through a web browser every time you need to ask for help?

You will need to access the Apple Support Community pages using a web browser, but you can add the main page to your iPhone home screen for quick access.

To do that navigate to Official Apple Support Community and touch on the share icon (the arrow leaving a square), then pull up the panel of new options and choose Add to Home Screen.

This puts a bookmark for Safari on your iPhone's home screen which looks like an app, but will load the page in the browser.
