AirPod pros stop when one removed

I have auto ear detection switched on but my AirPod pros have recently started to cut out when I take one out. Is there a solution?

They are supposed to do that.

That's what ear detection does.

The solution is turn it off if you want them to continue playing with only one in your ear.
