Mouse acting weird - Logic Pro X

What can I do to make my mouse work properly in Logic again?

I’m using the stock mousepad on Macbook Pro, and it hadn’t had any problems with Logic until yesterday.

Basically, it can’t drag and/or highlight at all. It works perfectly well in other apps, and is only really acting strange in Logic.

For example, I’ll try to select some bars to cycle, but it instead places markers on the (grid thing above the tracks, I don’t know the name) directly below. It’s very frustrating.

I’ve updated macOS as well as Logic itself to the latest versions available, and this did not fix the problem.

I can’t run Logic in low res mode because of something with the screen or whatever.

I tried to adjust my machine’s “login items” but I didn’t seem to have any, so that didn’t solve the problem.

I don’t know what to do, and I’d appreciate suggestions. Thank you.

Having just updating, reinstall the macOS:

Reinstalling the macOS:

If hardware is not working properly, then reinstall the macOS. If you reinstall the macOS, nothing would be deleted. All intended, original files and ppps that came on your macOS would be reinstalled. It’s all about keeping your system files intact.

1. First, Create a Time Machine backup:

Important: Create a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall.

2. Reinstall the macOS:
