message notifications

my message notifications are not showing up at all. No sound notification, not showing on the banner or on the home screen. I only know I have a message by looking at the app. I have turned the notifications on and off, reset the phone etc... nothing seems to be working

Is this only impacting the Messages app?
Do you have a companion Apple Watch paired to this iPhone?
When you mention resetting the iPhone, do you mean restarting or something else?
Which iOS version do you have installed? (Tap Settings > General > About)
