This version of macOS cannot be installed on this computer.

Hello

I got a Mac Pro 2008 with 2 Xeon CPUs and 8 gb ram. I tried to install MacOS High Sierra on it, but it had given me an error: "This version of macos cannot be installed on this computer".

So I thought the gpu is the problem (hd 2600xt with only 256 mb vram), and I bought an gt 630 from Fujitsu today.

I got home and tried to install high sierra again, but it had given me the same error. I didn't install any drivers for the gpu, just swapped it with the old one. The gt 630 seems to support metal, but in System Information.app it doesn't tell me if it does support it or it doesn't.

Please, let me know what the problem is and what can I do to update it to high sierra (I prefer not to use dosdude1 as it is kinda complicated. Would a system factory reset fix it?
