READING GOALS TIMER NOT WORKING

Reading goals on my apple books isnt working AT ALL. no matter what i do or what book i open (i usually start with the “reading now” title), the reading goals timer NEVER starts running - even if i spend like 20 minutes reading the same book. i do have the notifications for reading goals toggled ON (at settings on my profile within the books app). how do i fix this??

Books Page Navigation stuck in Scroll mode Page Navigation in the Books app on iPad got stuck in the Scroll mode after I changed it once which was the first time I messed around with it. Now every time I try to set the Page Navigation back to Slide or whatever else, it goes back to the Scroll mode by itself. I tried to close the app and then change it but it stays the same still when I open it. Sometimes the navigation is confused between the modes so it scrolls while also trying to slide the page. This issue makes the app unusable for me because the Scroll mode is quite unpractical with big books. I reported the bug. Any help much appreciated!

All i did was simple,

go to the setting, go to books or search books on the search tap, open books and scroll down to "clear reading goals data" click on it and go back
