New iPhone won't connect to Apple Watch. Problem being you can't pair them until you update. Update won't work... seems to be a glitch with the update. Tried it from multiple different iPhones. Since the watch can't update, the Apple Watch won't work. Any suggestions?

Try these steps:
1. Make sure that your Apple Watch is connecting properly to its charger.
2. Restart your Apple Watch.
3. Restart your paired iPhone.
4. Try again to update your Apple Watch.
If the update won't start:
1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
2. Tap General > Software Update.
3. Delete the update file.
4. Try again to update your Apple Watch.

I have the same problem, I have no other option other than exiting and not pairing or doing an update to 8.7.1 that never actually completed and puts me in a constant loop. I’ve reset both devices numerous times, it seems as though Apple has phased out my watch and made it obsolete.
