multiple group chats within Messages with the same people

I have a group chat with my immediate family, but my Messages app is showing it as three different group chats; each thread has the same people and uses the same group name.

This is apparently unique to me, as I was cleaning out messages yesterday and updated names for the older threads and it severely confused my mom.

And now I just received a text to one of the group messages that was "older" for me.

Is there a way for me to merge these threads together on my end?
