Automatically Show and Hide Dock keeps turning itself off randomly, disrupting my workflow.

On a 2020 M1 Air, with Ventura 13.1 (also happened on Monterey). I have tried everything I could find in here, including a reinstall of the OS.

I SET IT TO THIS:

AND APPLE RESETS IT TO THIS RANDOMLY: Locking the dock in the show state.

Honestly it is so disruptive to my workflow (having my windows and workspaces resized, and or blocked by the dock popping up) that I am using my Mac less and less.

Has anyone been able to fix this? How?

(Please don't offer a restart, ram reset, or update as a sole solution, only as part of a larger or different solution process. all three of those have been tried in various combinations and alone multiple times. This also happens on multiple OS versions. Going from Monterey to Ventura didn't help)

Thank you for your help.

Additionally, When this happens (when the mac turns the setting off randomly) the dock pops up and either re-shapes my open windows, or covers them on the bottom -

If it resizes/reshapes the working window, it is it generally not in an optimal way with lots of empty space and messed up formatting.

If it covers the bottom of the window, then have to take the window out of fullscreen and go turn on this setting again. Because if I put the window BACK in full screen without turning on auto hide again, the dock will cover the bottom of the window still (not good when working in an IDE or similar) when put back in fullscreen.

It's like when autohide gets turned off randomly, the dock gets locked as a top UI layer that just gets in the way of everything else I am trying to do.
