replace iPod

What does apple offer to replace the iPod? I know they aren't in this bz, b/c they want everyone on a subscription (which I have). But I have alot of owned music (ripped from cds) that I want to keep separately on a different device. And use it via bluetooth especially on airplanes.

Do not want to co-mingle my owned music with Apple Music.

And finally, I'm not speedy with effecting files transfers from non-apple music players...all my owned music has been stored on apple iTunes/now music.

Thoughts? Possibilities? Very sad that my wonderful 32gig iPod was stolen...

Thank you.

P.S. I have an old iPod w/glass screen, but that is probably too ancient to be practical.

Hello vesta822,

You would need to visit the websites of the Music Players you're interested in to see what they are compatible with and what the requirements are for that particular player.

In regards to Apple's Self Service Repair, this page below has information. However, it's not available for the older models, such as an iPhone 5s,

Apple’s Self Service Repair now available

Thanks!

I'm sorry, guess I miscommunicated. I know that apple no longer supports iPod & there are other music players out there.

But which ones are compatible with my owned music that has now been synced involuntarily into the MUSIC app. The Sony ones appear to require complicated file transfers etc. Wondering if there are any music players that can work with apple MUSIC app. One never knows when Apple will just drop a product, then it's just too late for us consumers.

Secondly, I have two old 5s iPhones that I previously used as music players--sadly even the third-party batteries die very quickly. Now that apple is releasing their official parts inventory, is there any chance that I might be able to get a standard battery installed in one of these 5s phones? They would work great as plain old music players.

Thank you for your creativity here...
